You have to be in southern Alberta to see these. I have tried to get pictures before and failed. They are very skittish. I managed to see quite a few of these and with luck managed to get photos of a couple of them. These were taken in the area of Highway 501 due south of Etzikom, Alberta on May 14, 2016.

I would guess the closest was about one hundred feet. A zoom lens helps. One just walked by the truck and did not seem to care. I have seen them lots of times and never got close to getting a photo. On that day I got a few dozen.

ReplyDeleteUsed to see lots of antelope while driving the back country when stationed at Ft Huachuca, AZ. Coatimundi (I think it was them) and tarantulas as well.

I used to go to Scottsdale about three to four times a year. I saw lizards, rabbits, and a roadrunner. Getting decent photos of antelope was just luck for me.
