Technically it is a scooter

I have had more than a few people give me the gears for owning and being seen in public riding a Suzuki Burgman. My good buddy has mentioned that sometime I should get a real motorcycle. My employer - great guy by the way - had said during last summer that he has a friend that has a bike and was looking for people to go riding with. I told him I was interested but he said he wanted to wait until I got a real motorcycle. I had it in to get serviced this summer and I was sitting outside the shop with a coffee and started a conversation with a somewhat grizzled Harley owner. He asked me about the Burgman and I told him I had recently driven it from Calgary into Montana. His response was “On that thing?”

No matter I much love this thing I learned that it doesn’t get you a great deal of respect.

  3. I got it for $2,600.00 Canadian. If you are American that is practically free in US funds. So what it is about is doing fun stuff on the cheap.

(You may curse Angel for having me infest your blog.)

    1. I plan on zipping down to the US this summer. I have a condo in Scottsdale (pending divorce may make that interesting). I have made multiple trips to Fogo de Chao.

  5. Hey, it's got 2 wheels.
That's good enough, well, that and much more than 49cc.
I have a 650 Suzuki Boulevard/Savage and while it is quick off the line, it won't go anywhere near 105.

    BTW, Angel sent me too

  6. It is a fun ride. I do get the occasional double take when I pass people on the highway with it. I am more careful with speed on the open prairie because the strong winds can give you a few scary moments. Thanks for visiting.
