One million page views?

Not even close. More like 42.5% of that. Of course if you do not post much you cannot expect much in the number of views. I would complain about my declining numbers except I have not been posting much in the way of content.

The current blog forecast calls for sparse and sporadic posts. Winter is making it difficult to get out to places. Last year at this time I was riding a motorcycle on the highway. It is a different story this year. Snow and a few snowstorms are keeping me from places that I want to go. It is currently melting during the day and turning roads icy overnight. More snow is supposed to be on the way. Spring will eventually come allowing me to get out more. I am getting a little ansty as I have a few places I want to explore. At this time I do not want to drive down icy rural gravel roads.

My employer decided that this coming Saturday all of the employees need to attend a conference featuring a motivational speaker. Lots of things have motivated me at various times, a speaker has never been one of them. With luck there will be some way I can get out of this thing. So not much of interest on this front.

  1. I've had 3 different blogs since I started blogging. My Mohave Rat's Two Cents Worth was at 700,000 when I shut it down. It didn't reflect what I wanted to say and show so those numbers were meaningless to me. My new blog "Tired of the BS" has about 12,000 views so far and I am happy with the way it is going. Sorry about the motivational thing. That would have the exact opposite effect on me! Don't worry, Be Happy!

  2. You need to get your blog picked up by one of those Russian bots -- then you'll see your pageviews skyrocket, LOL!

  3. I'm antsy for Spring too, but be safe on the roads...Spring will get here eventually.
I do not see the logic in requiring employees to attend an event on what I assume would be a day off (Saturday)... are they being paid to attend? Even if I was being paid I don't think I'd find the speaker to be motivational... it would only motivate me to be as mediocre as possible...I'm good at that... better than average at being mediocre...LOL Hope the day passes quickly or even better you figure out way to get out of it.

  4. Meetings and lectures serve absolutely no purpose but to allow the boss to feel like he/she is doing something useful.

  5. I haven't worried about page views since I started blogging, it just isn't why I blog. My three viewers and myself are fine with that.
Get a lazer pen and if the motivational speaker gets boring, put that red dot in the center of his forehead. Things should liven up a bit...

  6. Are they paying you for the over-time BW? Or is that the wrong question to ask the boss? :)
Want to motivate employees? Friday, after coffee - kick 'em all out and send them home early. Say thank you. Recognize hard work. Don't be a dink. Fire the a-holes, don't fire the good employees. It's easy.
