Some counties and municipal districts in Alberta have land ownership maps posted online. It makes it helpful to search for stuff such as churches and cemeteries as they are usually mapped. Not to mention that I do not have to pay for the map. Finding a cemetery in the middle of nowhere might mean when you visit it there might be an old church or possibly an old school in the vicinity. People rarely built a church without something in the area to go with it. Sometimes when you look something up and visit in person there is nothing there. However that is the thrill of the hunt.
